Advisory Committee

The QRS Advisory Committee serves as an advisory body to support the conference’s long-term development, continuity, and growth. Drawing on the experience and perspectives of its members, the Advisory Committee provides strategic advice to the Steering Committee, identifies opportunities for strengthening the conference, and helps cultivate future leaders who may serve on the QRS Steering Committee.

The Advisory Committee works closely with the Steering Committee while maintaining an advisory, rather than operational, role. Its responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Identify Future Leaders: Identify and recommend qualified candidates who can contribute to QRS’s continued success, including potential members of the QRS Steering Committee and other conference leadership positions.
Provide Strategic Advice: Offer suggestions and recommendations to the Steering Committee regarding the long-term direction, development, visibility, and continued growth of QRS.
Solicit and Review Suggestions: Hear and consider suggestions from members of the QRS community, including past and current conference organizers, participants, and other stakeholders, concerning ways to improve the conference.
Conduct Special Studies and Surveys: Conduct special surveys, studies, or assessments at the Steering Committee’s request on matters relevant to the conference, such as emerging research areas, community needs, conference organization, and future development.
Explore Future Conference Venues: In collaboration with the Steering Committee, identify potential locations and host institutions for future QRS conferences, and review recommendations or proposals for new venues.
Advise on Technical Scope and Emerging Topics: Identify emerging research trends and recommend new topics, themes, special tracks, panels, workshops, or other activities to incorporate into future QRS conferences.
Support Conference Continuity: Provide institutional knowledge and advice to maintain continuity across conference years, teams, and locations while encouraging appropriate innovation and evolution.

Through these activities, the Advisory Committee helps ensure that QRS remains a vibrant, relevant, and internationally recognized forum for research and professional exchange in software quality, reliability, and security.
